Pleated Blind light values explained by colour

The Pleated Blind fabrics are determined by 3 basic parameters. The sum of light transmission, light reflection and light absorption is always 100% and refers to the light and solar energy that passes through your window pane.

Light permeability / light transmission (T)

Describes the penetration of light through the fabric (the lower the percentage value, the less light and heat passes through the fabric into the room, i.e. the darker the room is)

Light reflection (R)

Describes the reflection of sunlight to the outside (the higher the value, the more light the fabric reflects. The more light and heat a fabric reflects, the less enters the room.)

Light absorption (A)

Describes the light absorbed by the fabric and converted into heat energy (the higher the value, the more heat the fabric absorbs. The absorbed heat is then gradually released back into the room by the fabric)

Good to know:

A typical fabric property is that the fabric colours from all collections can appear different under varying weather and light conditions. Premium & Thermo White Day have different shades of white due to the thermal heat protection coating.

Thoughtful manufacturing process

The concertina-folded Pleated Blind fabric is fitted with cords on the inside and is moved using the handles on the profile rails. Firm, secure, spring-optimised Pleated Blind tensioning. Double cording for increased stability.

How does the Up & Down Pleated Blind system work?

Operating Pleated Blinds and opening and closing them is extremely simple.

Simply take hold of the handle attached to the aluminium profile and move it upwards (if you want to cover the upper part of the window)
or downwards (if you want to cover the lower part of the window).

This distributes the fabric evenly, covers the window and protects the interior from sunlight.

Finding the right Pleated Blind dimensions – our guide

The Pleated Blinds without Drilling for clamping are Made to Measure and are mounted on the window frame, or more precisely on the movable window sash. They are clamped to the window sash at the top and bottom using 2 clamp brackets each. We recommend the following measuring instructions for your Schuette® Pleated Blind without Drilling for clamping:

How to measure for clamp-mounted pleated blinds

Width

Glass width including rubber seal + 1 to 3 cm overlap on each side.

Height

Height of the entire window sash

Good to know:

The Pleated Blind on the window must not end directly at the handle. When measuring the overlap, please take the position of your window handle into account. We recommend leaving approx. 0,5 to 1,0 cm clearance between the Pleated Blind and the handle.

Tip:

If you only wish to cover part of a window or door, we can increase the cord length on request. To do this, please enter the partial dimensions in our Pleated Blind configurator and add the Pleated Blind to the shopping basket. Next, please enter the desired cord length (= window sash height) in the comment field for the order at the bottom of the shopping basket.
Our production team will be happy to take this into account for you!

Example:

If the Pleated Blind is to measure 60,3 x 120 cm and your window frame is 200 cm high, the Pleated Blind should be ordered in 60,3 x 120 cm and it should be mentioned in the comment field that the cord length is to be 200 cm.
