Schuette® roof window pleated blind features: Sturdy guide rails (no vertical sagging), infinitely adjustable (up & down), double tensioned (NO swinging), special aluminum profiles (NO! bending/breaking), fully assembled as far as possible (NO! threading the pleated cord / NO! tedious assembly of many individual parts)
Roof window guide rails: The Schuette® roof window pleated blind consists of an infinitely adjustable (Up&Down) pleated blind system and two sturdy white aluminum profiles, which are made to measure for your roof window. The two aluminum profiles are screwed to the inside of the window frame and ensure a clean finish on the roof window. The side profiles also cover the light gap between the pleated blind and the window frame and serve as a pleated blind guide to prevent excessive sagging of the pleated blind, even when the window is tilted at a high angle.
Measuring instructions: Width = width of the inner frame measured at the front edge from left to right (at the point where the guide rails are attached) x height = height of the inner frame measured at the front edge.
Installation: Schuette® Suprafix pleated blind brackets "for screwing on / with drilling" & guide rails guarantee a clean and aesthetic look and quick & easy installation without special tools. Pleated Blind light values explained by colour

The Pleated Blind fabrics are determined by 3 basic parameters. The sum of light transmission, light reflection and light absorption is always 100% and refers to the light and solar energy that passes through your window pane.

Light permeability / light transmission (T)

Describes the penetration of light through the fabric (the lower the percentage value, the less light and heat passes through the fabric into the room, i.e. the darker the room is)

Light reflection (R)

Describes the reflection of sunlight to the outside (the higher the value, the more light the fabric reflects. The more light and heat a fabric reflects, the less enters the room.)

Light absorption (A)

Describes the light absorbed by the fabric and converted into heat energy (the higher the value, the more heat the fabric absorbs. The absorbed heat is then gradually released back into the room by the fabric)

The opaque Premium quality is available in a wide colour range of more than 25 shades: from fashionable greys to classic white, beige and brown tones, rounded off with expressive, intense colours.

Good to know:

A typical fabric property is that the fabric colours from all collections can appear different under varying weather and light conditions. Premium & Thermo White Day have different shades of white due to the thermal heat protection coating.

Strong tension:

The spring optimised tensioning of the Pleated Blind prevents the fabrics from sagging and the profile rails from bending. Only at widths over 150cm can there be minimal bending in the middle of the profile rail, without impairing the functionality of the Pleated Blind.

Thoughtful manufacturing process

The concertina-folded Pleated Blind fabric is fitted with cords on the inside and is moved using the handles on the profile rails. Firm, secure, spring-optimised Pleated Blind tensioning. Double cording for increased stability.

How does the Up & Down Pleated Blind system work?

Operating Pleated Blinds and opening and closing them is extremely simple.

Simply take hold of the handle attached to the aluminium profile and move it upwards (if you want to cover the upper part of the window)
or downwards (if you want to cover the lower part of the window).

This distributes the fabric evenly, covers the window and protects the interior from sunlight.

Recommendation:

In ground floor flats, cover only the lower part of the window so that your privacy is maintained. The appropriate amount of light from the upper part of the window enters the living space and protects the interior of the house or flat from unwanted glances from outside.

Measuring the window

Finding the right dimensions – our guide

The roof window pleated blinds are mounted on the inner frame of the roof windows. They are attached with two brackets at the top and bottom of the frame and are additionally supported by the side guide rails. We therefore recommend the following instructions for measuring your Schuette® pleated blind:

Width

Width of the inner frame measured from left to right at the front edge (at the point where the guide rails are attached)

Height

Height of the inner frame measured at the front edge

Good to know:

If you are unsure about the dimensions, please feel free to contact our customer service team by email and send us a photo of your window. We will be happy to advise you on the dimensions!

Tip:

Please do not deduct anything from the width. Our production team will do this automatically to ensure that the pleated blind fits perfectly between your frame and the side guide rails.
