Measuring instructions: a) Installation on rods: Height = From the floor to the top edge of the curtain rod and add at least 2 cm so that the curtain lightly brushes the floor; b) Installation with clips: Height = From the floor to the point where the clip grips the fabric at the top; c) Installation with hooks: Height = From the floor to the curtain hook + 2 / 4 / 6 cm (desired fabric overhang above the hook) x Width = (width to be covered) x 2. Now divide the resulting measurement by the required number of panels. | All Schuette® curtain dimensions are width x height.
Installation: The Schuette® multifunctional tape allows hooks, gliders and rings to be attached and features loops for a curtain rod with a diameter of up to 25 mm. The tape contains drawstrings that can be pulled to pleat or gather the curtain.

For enhanced light protection: Especially for south-, east- and west-facing windows with strong, direct sunlight throughout the day, Schuette® master tailors recommend ordering the curtain panels approx. 30% wider. The extra width helps with blackout in the following two ways: 1. Light gaps at the sides of the window (i.e. scattered light) are largely or completely blocked, 2. The curtain fabric falls in relaxed folds, which absorb directly incoming light better than stretched fabric. How it works: Width to order = width obtained from the measuring instructions x 1.3 (Example: 130 cm x 1.3 = approx. 170 cm per panel)
For complete darkness: In addition to enhanced light protection through extra width, the sewing workshop of the Schuette® manufactory can sew two curtain panels together across their entire surface. The double fabric doubles the blackout performance. How it works: Simply double the desired quantity (e.g. quantity 2 → quantity 4) and note in the shopping cart comment field that the curtain panels should be made with a double layer of fabric.

Curtain light values explained by colour

The fabrics are determined by 3 basic parameters. The sum of light transmission, light reflection and light absorption is always 100% and refers to the light and solar energy that passes through your window pane.

Light permeability / light transmission

Describes the penetration of light through the fabric (the lower the percentage value, the less light and heat passes through the fabric into the room, i.e. the darker the room is)

Light reflection

Describes the reflection of sunlight to the outside (the higher the value, the more light the fabric reflects. The more light and heat a fabric reflects, the less enters the room.)

Light absorption

Describes the light absorbed by the fabric and converted into heat energy (the higher the value, the more heat the fabric absorbs. The absorbed heat is then gradually released back into the room by the fabric)

Simple & concealed: The hooks, gliders or rings of the track system are hooked into the curtain tape. The tape is not visible from the front.
Dimensionally stable for immaculate pleats: The high strength of the tunnel heading tape ensures a consistently smart and upright arrangement of the top edge, without creasing, sagging or revealing the fixings.
Easily adjustable: The height of the curtain can still be adjusted during installation thanks to the 3 different hook-in positions.
Length of curtain and drapery poles: We recommend allowing an overhang of at least 20-30 cm on each side of the window opening so that the curtain later hangs neatly at the sides and achieves optimum blackout performance for the room. (Example: 240-260 cm long pole for a 200 cm wide window opening).

a) Rod mounting

measure windows for curtains with eyelets or tunnelband

Width

(area to be covered) x 2. Then divide the resulting measurement by the required number of panels.

Height

Height from the floor to the top edge of the curtain rod + 2 cm.
Add 2 cm to the measured height to allow for the fabric above the loops and to avoid a curtain that is too short.

b) Clip mounting

Width

(area to be covered) x 2. Then divide the resulting measurement by the required number of panels.

Height

From the floor to the track - x

x – the distance from the track to approximately the centre of the curtain clip (i.e. the point where the clip grips the fabric)

c) Hook mounting

Width

(area to be covered) x 2. Then divide the resulting measurement by the required number of panels.

Height

From the floor to the curtain hook + 2 / 4 / 6 cm (desired fabric overhang). The intended fabric overhang is a guideline. Exactly how much extends above the curtain hooks depends on the hooks and the type of installation.

Example for the width:

150 cm x 2 = 300 cm. For two curtain panels 300 : 2 = 150 cm per panel; for three curtain panels 300 : 3 = 100 cm per panel, etc.

Good to know:

In the measuring guide mentioned above, the height is always measured in the same way, even for different widths. The curtain reaches the floor in this case. If a different length is preferred and the panel should not touch the floor but, for example, only reach the window sill, the height should be measured from the top edge of the curtain rod to the desired position and specified accordingly.

Very high quality work, quick delivery. We live in Scandinavia and during the summer it is very difficult to darken the bedroom before 8, even with roller blinds already in place (there's a very young baby who needs relative darkness to sleep well). These curtains are doing the job amazingly! I couldn't upload videos, so the two lower quality photos are actually snippets from the video, but they show how well the curtains do: all 3 photos are from noon on a cloudless sunny day, the one with more light is without the roller blinds (the curtain alone blocks full sunlight) and the dark photos are the curtain with the blinds down (the darker one is the curtain itself, the other one is the only light coming through to the room via the opposite end door frame!). As shown, the curtain does a very decent job on its own and with blinds it creates nearly pitch-black, even during the day. For comparison, the blinds alone did very little while the sun was up, and our baby is sleeping soooo much better since we have these curtains up! In addition, the lovely personalised message (which we already experienced previously with the bedsheets) and the solid packaging was very welcome - we even received a matching throw pillow cover, that we are now using as the cover for our small travel pillow to nap on the couch. :) Note: We ordered the standard size, which was just the perfect lenght (about 5cm from the floor). We could've ordered a single curtain in wider size, but having two 130cm wide panels makes it a bit easier to cover from end to end perfectly, and still having a little extra. The eyelet style gives us a little extra cover on the top.
